Bahamas Event Features Blink 182, Yachts And A $50,000 Ticket Package
But there’s nothing like what’s being delivered at the Fyre Festival, an event so VIP that the equivalent of its campground is staying on a yacht. The price includes a flight to a private island. The top-of-the-line package costs $50K (well, $49,999). Per person.
It was being promoted all winter by models who were flown into the Bahamas to post photos of themselves playing around on the beach and in the water on Instagram.
For this event, you don’t just buy tickets, you make a reservation. It may well be the world’s most exclusive music festival.
Fyre Festival takes place over two weekends, April 28-30 and May 5-7 (the same weekends as Jazzfest in New Orleans, it must be noted, which is certainly far less polished) on Frye Caye in the Exumas islands in the Bahamas.
It features music, culture, a first-class culinary experiences and a luxury atmosphere on a beach. Blink 182 (er wait a minute, they pulled out at the last minute), Migos, Lil Yachty, Matoma, Claptone, Le Youth the G.O.O.D. Music Family, Major Lazer and Disclosure (DJ set) are all set to perform at this inaugural event.
An electronic and deep house lineup put together by New York City’s electronic music events company ZERO performs from sunset to sunrise on a “Pirate’s Cove” stage on both Fridays. Artists include Lee Burridge, Rampue, Bedouin, Niconé, Daniel Cowel, Jan Blomqvist, Lovecraft, Bo, Stephanie Roxanne, ThugFucker, BLOND:ISH, Tensnake, and Beto Abrahão.
All GA packages are sold out for both weekends and the “cheapest” remaining package is a VIP one costing $3,500.
This music festival will bring to The Bahamas one of the largest events ever hosted in our destination, and we are delighted to welcome all attendees to our island,” said The Hon. Obediah H. Wilchombe, M.P., West Grand Bahama and Bimini; Minister of Tourism.
“We’re working closely with the Fyre Festival Team to ensure that visitors have an unforgettable trip to the Exumas. The Exuma Islands and surrounding seas are one of the most beautiful and pristine destinations in the world.
“We’re looking forward to sharing the beauty of our island with guests of Fyre Festival, just eight weeks away.”
