The Del Mar Fairgrounds, which host horse racing in the summer and late fall and is known as “Where The Turf Meets The Surf” is about 30 minutes north of San Diego’s Gaslamp. It’s wide-open grounds means it’s ideally suited for a festival like KAABOO.
It also has large parking lots (it’s important to note the are dirt) which means there’s potential for Parrohead tailgate partying. There are two lots, one that’s on the grounds and another across the street. On-site parking is $85 for the three days; click here to purchase.
Overnight parking is prohibited. The closest place for overnight RVs is Campland On The Bay in Mission Bay.
This will be the first of two Buffett shows in Southern California this fall. He is also playing Irvine Meadows on Oct. 22, scene of one of the best tailgate parties on tour. And that’s anyone’s tour!
