Jimmy Buffett Playing NYC For NYE In Barclays Center

So much for flip flops and tank tops, churning blenders and warm tropical breezes.

Parrotheads who want to see Jimmy Buffett on New Year’s Eve must bundle up as Buffett is playing New York City on NYE. He’s performing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

A Buffett NYE show is a rare treat. He did a millennium show at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. And not many others.

The location is somewhat of a head-scratcher – you would expect it to be in, say, Florida or perhaps Hawaii (and how awesome would THAT be, in Waikiki!?). Or at least at a place with a large parking lot for tailgating.

But the Parrotheads will have their fins out and up for this show.

The Barclays Center – home of the New Jersey Nets and New York Islanders – has a concert seating capacity of 18,000. It’s not exactly new to hosting concerts, either, as Jay Z, the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and Bruno Mars have performed at the venue.
