‘Trying To Reason’ Show Set For Tallahassee, Florida
He promised and now he’s delivering, and he’s also bringing along a couple of friends.
After Hurricane Irma ripped through his old stomping grounds of the Florida Keys and Key West, Jimmy Buffett promising to do a benefit concert to help the victims.
And he’s doing it, Nov. 19 in Tallahassee. And it’s just not him; he’s being joined by country music superstars Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith.
Called the “Trying to Reason …” benefit concert, it will be held in the Tucker Civic Center. Proceeds will go to help communities not just in Florida, but in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands that were hammered by Irma and Hurricane Maria.
Tickets are on sale at the box office and the arena’s website. There is a limit of eight tickets per person. (Parrotheads tend to travel in flocks!)
So not only is Buffett playing to benefit the Keys but also the British Virgin Islands, which were nearly flattened by Irma. He got a lot of his inspiration and songs sitting on a sailboat in Cane Garden Bay and on and around the bars and islands of the BVIs.
Chesney is a regular customer of the Soggy Dollar Bar and other BVIs institutions, all of which were nearly wiped out by Irma, but are vowing to come back “better than ever.”
So for one night, the Tucker Civic Center will be Margaritaville for victims of the hurricanes. Shoes are optional; flip flops are recommended.
Fins Up to Buffett, Chesney, Keith, those attending the show and of course, all those affected by the hurricanes.
