The Cruise Packing Checklist You Need (But Wouldn’t Have Thought Of)

Cruise ship

Going on a cruise will be one of the most amazing experiences of your life. You can relax on a luxurious ship where you’re constantly catered to and get to eat some of the best food of your life.

However, part of having a stress-free trip means having a cruise packing checklist. Sure, you’ve got your clothes, electronics, and personal needs stuff, but could you be forgetting something?

Things You Might Not Have Thought to Put on Your Cruise Packing Checklist

Anyone can find fantastic, affordable cruise deals, and likewise, everyone knows to pack the basics for any vacation. Sunscreen, bathing suit, sunglasses, etc. However, what about the things no one thinks of?

We’re here to give you a quick (but essential) list of everything that should be on your cruise packing checklist but probably isn’t.

1. Seasickness Medication

Maybe you’ve thought of this already, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t. You must have some sea sickness medication on board with you, even if you’ve never experienced seasickness before.

The last thing you want is your who cruise ruined because you can’t keep anything down!

2. An Extra Suitcase for Souvenirs

Next, remember that you’re going to be visiting several ports of countries you’ve likely never been to before. These countries, especially near cruise ports will be packed full of awesome tourist places. This includes souvenir shops.

You’ll want to make sure you bring plenty of extra luggage so that you can buy all the things you want to remember your trip by.

3. Binoculars

Next, we recommend adding binoculars to your cruise packing checklist. You never know what you’ll see while you’re out on the ocean. You could spot whales, dolphins, or other ships.

Additionally, while coming into port in different countries, it wouldn’t be bad to be able to scope out some cultural landmarks.

4. Collapsible Laundry Bag

Next, many people forget that they’ll be dirtying up laundry during their trip and don’t have a place to put soiled clothes. Bringing a simple collapsible laundry bag is a convenient way to keep your dirty clothes organized.

5. Alcohol

You’ll need to check the regulations of your cruise, be we suggest adding some of your own alcohol onto your cruise packing checklist. Granted, you won’t be able to bring on enough to party every single night, but you should be able to bring a few bottles of your favorite wine.

6. A Backpack

Next, when you stop at each port, you’ll likely want to explore and roam about the area. However, you’ll want to bring water bottles, cameras, and a means of carrying back anything you buy. That’s why putting a backpack on your cruise packing checklist is essential for your convenience.

7. A Copy of Your Passport

Finally, as a safety measure, we think you should bring along an extra copy of your passport. This will save you a lot of headaches in the event that your real passport gets lost or stolen.
