Pack Light But Also What You Need For Your Trip

It’s the eve of your trip and you are really buzzin’ with excitement and anticipation. You and your friends have talked about it for months and now the day for departure has arrived.
So you stand in front of our suitcase/backpack wondering if you’ve got everything for the trip. We are here to help.
No matter where you are headed or for how long, there are a few travel essentials you must take with you. And not all of them have to fit into your bags; some must fit into your head. We will start with the former.
1.) Pack Light
Remember and repeat these words: PACK LIGHT. PACK LIGHT, PACK LIGHT.
A good rule of thumb is to pack half of what you need, then take half of that out of the bag. Face it, do you really want to be schlepping around a three suitcases on the train or dragging them up five floors of narrow stairs in Amsterdam?
We recommend a medium-sized backpack with detachable daypack. Measure the weight before you go by walking up a steep hill. Remember, you can do laundry in other countries just as you can do so at home.
2.) Pack Your Essentials
There are basic things every traveler needs. Do a checklist before you leave the house – and indeed, a hotel if you are already on the road – and be sure you have your smart phone, your smart phone charger, your wallet (for women, make sure it’s in your purse), any travel or work documents you may need, airline/train tickets, prescription medicine, spare contact lenses and anything else you can’t do without or easily replace.
3.) Sample Sizes
A great way to save space is to get those little travel sample sizes of shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, etc. Any drug store in the USA carries these in a special “Travel Size” section.
4.) Comfortable Shoes
This may seem a basic thing you don’t need to be told but PubClub.com can’t count the number of times we’ve been around people who failed to pack comfortable shoes. They have shoes for style but there’s a lot of walking involved when you travel and this is an essential suitcase item.
Only bring one extra pair of shoes, by the way, and wear the heavier ones when going between destinations and pack the lighter, smaller ones.
5.) Pack A Good Attitude
This is something that doesn’t take up any space in your suitcase. When you travel, pack your friendliest attitude. Walk with a smile, thank people who are waiting on you – even in airports and yes, even airport security people – make idle chat with other travelers and in general be happy.
You may be surprised at how much easier travel is when you’ve got a smile and a good attitude.
