Detroit To Reach Minus-30 With Minneapolis At Minus-35 Degrees

If you’re traveling to Chicago the week of the end of January/first of February, don’t pack your swimsuit.
In fact, pack everything thick and heavy you own, for an arctic blast is hitting the Upper Midwest section of the United States that will plunge temperatures in the area to below zero. Well below zero.
Chicago is expected to be minus-13 on Wednesday, with some forecasters saying it could reach minus-20 degrees. Folks that’s cold enough to frost a can of Old Style to your hand. It’s even possible it could be that cold on Thursday, as well. The National Weather Service is predicting it will be below zero for 60 consecutive yours.
“Only eight times since 1872 has Chicago recorded subzero hights on at least two consecutive days, the most recent being early February 1996,” the service stated.
And if you think that is cold – and it is – it’s supposed to be minus-25 in Minneapolis. In Detroit, it’s going to be minus-30. Parts of northern Minnesota are expected to have wind chills ofminus-55 to minus-60.
Oh, and there is a “significant swath of snow from Minneapolis to near Chicago to start the week,” according to AccuWeather Chief Video Meteorologist Bernie Rayno.
I’m not sure how I would cope with that kind of weather, other than to be sure I’m stocked up on a lot of food and booze ahead of time because I would not want to leave the house.
Burrr!!!
By the way, as I’m writing this, I’m in my bare feet wearing shorts and a t-shirt in California.
Cheers!
