Allergies Be Damed; I Want My Favorite Airline Snack

Take THAT peanut allergy people!
In sheer and total defiance of the airlines pulling peanuts from the snack offerings on flights (and in some cases replacing them with pretzles, uggg) I ate peanuts on a plane during a recent trip.
I did this because I want peanuts on planes and I don’t like having them taken away because 0.95 percent of the population has a peanut allergy. I wasn’t on Southwest Airlines this time (American) but I’m going to make this a regular part of my flights from this point forward.
I did this by sidestepping this policy in the easiest way possible: I brought my own peanuts onto the plane.
Once airborne with the cabin service underway, I pulled out a bag and put the peanuts on the tray table. I did this fully in the open because I wanted to see if it produced any reaction from anybody. I half expected a flight attendant to lean over and whisper to me “you know you can’t have any peanuts on the flight” or perhaps a fellow passenger freaking out by jumping up and down while ringing the call button saying “he’s got peanuts on board! He’s got peanuts!!!”
Neither of those things happened (I was kind of disappointed the latter did not but I’m still early in my peanuts-on-board experiment) and so I just quietly munched on the snack of my choice. I have determined that is not against any airline policy to bring nuts onto a plane; it’s just against their policy to serve them.
It’s not that I’m a huge peanut lover. I just don’t like it when something gets taken away from me (and, in this case, others) for no good reason.
Now you may think I’m nuts but I’m not; it’s just that this whole anti-peanut thing is driving me nuts.
Cheers!
