Sin City Is The World’s Top New Year’s Destination

If you are looking for the world’s top destination to start off 2019, then look to Las Vegas.
The self-proclaimed City of Sin is coming off an epic New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day party and then immediately turns around and hosts the world’s largest consumer electronics convention known as the Consumer Electronics Show, or CES.
Only New Orleans can boast such back-to-back events to start a new year, and then only when it hosts the college football National Championship or a Super Bowl along with, or course, Mardi Gras.
But here’s Vegas, which is happening pretty much anytime, reaching a peak just as most people are making their travel resolutions for the coming year. It’s the destination equivalent of the “shampoo effect,” when you party hard one night and the next it only takes a little dab of drinks to get you roaring again.
And this is some shampoo effect. Nearly 200,000 people from 160 countries – including more than 6,000 media (tho that’s a very loose term when it comes to this type of “press” – attend CES on an annual basis.
It’s one of the largest trade shows in a town that has a lot of large trade shows.
Personally, I find trade shows tiring and taxing. Perhaps because I’ve worked too many of them. CES is both exciting and overwhelming, tho it does offer some great networking opportunities at cocktail parties. Provide you’re invited, of course.
For the average person, this means if you go to Vegas during CES, you’re going to be paying out the roof for a room. It will cost you more than $200 a night for the same bed that a week later you can get for about $59. This is, of course, before all the ridiculous resort fees hotels now charge in Vegas, which is why several visitors are now booking their stays through Airbnb and VEMO.
After CES, Vegas takes a few weeks to catch it breath. Then it’s rocking again for Super Bowl Weekend, which in 2019 is Feb. 3.
Cheers!
April is pool party time, the weather will be good and you’ll love it. Prices will be all according to whatever else may be happening at the time, if there is a big convention (and there’s always some type of convention in Vegas). Be sure and read PubClub’s post about the resort fees in Vegas. Cheers!
What about prices in Vegas during Spring? I’m planning to visit Vegas in April this year and I have very high expectations for my trip 🙂
Vegas is a great place to watch sporting events!
Great post to Las Vegas…very beautiful vacation is here to spend in lots of places and especially football National Championship very interesting!
Spring is a very good time to go to Vegas. Be sure and read all of PubClub’s stories on Sin City before your trip! It’s under Destinations on the home page. Cheers!
This year I realized that I had never been to Vegas. For this this spring, I rent a car and will definitely go on vacation here!
