Channel Islands Among The Things To Do In This SoCal City

There are so many cool places to visit in California – especially along the coast – that it’s easy to forget about a few of them.
That one reason why the Oxnard Oxnard Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has published a new visitor’s guide to the city.
This year’s guide has an extensive focus on the Channel Islands National Park with an insider’s perspective, including interviews with park rangers who share vital information including best times to travel to the islands, what to bring & expect and even how to care for this natural treasure.
“We wanted to take the opportunity to highlight all the amazing activities and culture in Oxnard,” stated Julie Mino President & CEO of the Oxnard Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Our goal was also to make the guide accessible to our locals and be something they can display proudly at their businesses or even at home on a coffee table.”
“We hope everyone will find something new or exciting they want to check out from reading the guide.”
In addition to the Channel Islands National Park, Oxnard also has the Carnegie Art Museum, built in 1906 in a former library; it features contemporary California art. There are early-1900s homes along Heritage Square and on the coast, Oxnard Beach Park has picnic tables overlooking the Channel Islands.
Bet you didn’t know that, now did you!? (Neither did I, by the way; I had to look up the information, ha.)
The Visitor’s Guide’s cover features an ocean scene, an excursion with Marina Sailing out of Channel Islands Harbor.
The Oxnard CVB is partnering with Certified Folder Display to distribute the guide to some 444 locations throughout California, Arizona and even an airport in Missoula, Montana. Locally, the guide will be available to all the advertising partners, businesses and at the Oxnard hotels for visitors. The Oxnard CVB will also utilize the guide at leisure & meeting tradeshows as well as at the yearly festivals.
