Rain Puts A Real Damper On Traveling To Fun Destinations & Events

I’m sitting inside PubClub.com’s World Headquarters in Southern California and looking at rain drops fall during a damp day.
It’s not a very exciting scene. And it suddenly occurred to me that I don’t like this kind of weather.
Okay it did not just suddenly occur to me but it’s been a while since I’ve thought about it because 85% of the days here are beautiful and sunny, and rain is such distant thought much of the time.
And while I can certainly endure a little wet and rain – in large part I know it’s going to be gorgeous again before too long – I could not do it on a consistent basis. Living in a wet climate would drive me crazy. I’m too much energized by the sun’s rays and by being outdoor. Today, if I want to go outside, I’ve got to put on a rain jacket and hood or hat. I couldn’t imagine having to do that for half the year.
I also don’t like it raining when I travel. A few months ago, I walked around a deserted French Quarter my first day in New Orleans. Nobody was out and that’s an odd scene in the Big Easy. I would up spending much of the day in my hotel room because it was really coming down that day. Fortunately, things cleared up at night and I was able to go to Bourbon Street and except for the last few hours of that trip, the weather was mostly sunny.
I’m not alone in wanting good weather when I travel. How many of you have looked forward to a beach vacation for months, only to have it rain when you finally go on your trip. Or go to a big festival and have it rain the entire time?Bummer!
And it’s the same thing anywhere, be it a beach or a city or any event.
At least here in Southern California, I know the rain is ending soon. So if you want to travel to where you have a good chance of seeing sunshine the entire time, come out this way.
Cheers1
