Countries & Destinations Are Both Overwhelmed And Confused

Destinations overwhelmed, countries still not letting in some other citizens, raging idiots acting like an airplane is a party bus to an extremist political rally, people refusing a vaccine to curb a global pandemic.
What in travel tarnation is going on here!?
On the one hand you have people bursting at the seams to get out and travel – and spend their unemployment money before it runs out in September, as least in the case of the USA – flooding airlines and destinations that are not ramped up enough to handle them.
On the other hand, there’s those who just won’t get vaccinated, hindering travel.
And I don’t really even know what to say about the bad behavior on the planes except to say I hope every one of them is put on the no-fly list for the rest of their lives.
I do know what to say about this, tho – travel will not return to normal until the unvaccinated get vaccinated.
We could have had this Delta variant pretty much licked before it got a foothold on society, but that’s too late now. As a result, restrictions will continue to be in place in many places and a repeat of shutdowns may shut down travel altogether. Again.
Those penalized the most are those of us who have gotten both vaccines and followed all the recommended protocol.
And I don’t mind telling you, I don’t want to have to wear a mask for 10 hour or so of traveling – in airports, on the plane, on public transportation and even during Uber/Lift rides – because of a few stubborn people.
Government officials would be wise to just let the unvaccinated take their chances. And no to punish the vaccinated. After all, what’s the incentive now to get vaccinated for those on the fence if they have to face restrictions in travel and wearing a mask?
Flip-flopping on the mask issue is a sign of weak leadership at a time when many people don’t trust our leaders in the first place.
Until the world’s leaders get some big kahunas and reward the vaccinated and the unvaccinated set aside their petty complaints about the vaccine then travel will not be back to normal.
