The Pearl Mist Making Regular Trips From Port Everglades To Havana

If you’re Havana Daydreamin’ as a character in the Jimmy Buffett song did, then jump aboard The Pearl Mist cruise ship from Pearl Seas Cruises.
The ship is making regular cruises from Ft. Lauderdale to Cuba with a stop in Havana. The cruise line received permission from the Cuban government in December and its first sailing began the second week of January.
The liner has 11 cruises planned between now and May with more starting in November.
The 11-day voyage visits Havana, Trinidad and Santiago. It should be noted this is an American ship and can only carry U.S. citizens or permanent USA residents on the cruises to Cuba.
During their first day in Havana, passengers can tour the city in a classic American car or visit Ernest Hemingway’s home, Finca Vigia. In the evening they have the option to visit The Tropicana Club, a world-renowned cabaret or The Buena Vista Social Club at the Havana Café, which features Cuban music of the 1950s. (Tough call; PubClub.com would likely opt for The Tropicana Club).
“We are thrilled to offer guests a comprehensive Cuba itinerary and appreciate the support that we have received from the Cuban government in making such an extensive itinerary possible,” says Timothy Beebe, spokesperson for Pearl Seas Cruises.
“The entire itinerary focuses on the Cuban people. The people-to-people exchange mission guides each experience and allows guests the opportunity to learn about Cuban culture.
“With an 11-day cruise focused only on Cuba, Pearl Seas’ itinerary will visit more places than other cruise lines to provide a truly unique experience.”
Prices for this Cuba Cultural Voyage begin at $7,810, and it runs out of the Port Everglades port in Ft. Lauderdale.
