Jimmy Buffett Sets Sail With Margaritaville Paradise Cruise Ship

Jimmy Buffett is well known for spending a lifetime on a sailboat and has often used it as a source of inspiration when he needs some songwriting inspiration.

Among his classics to emerge from that lifestyle include “Cheeseburger In Paradise” and “Volcano.”

But now he’s also involved in a power boat. And a big power boat, at that: a giant 10-deck cruise ship called Margaritaville Paradise. 

“To me,” Buffett said, “the only thing better than being on a beach by the ocean, is to be on the ocean. Now you can follow in our wake.”

Margaritaville Paradise has 10 passenger decks and 658 cabins in various stateroom categories. Cabins and common spaces have Margaritaville’s casual-luxe design with nautical details and colors.

Its maiden voyage is April 30 from the Port of Palm Beach, FL,  to Grand Bahama Island.

This Margaritaville at Sea, as it is called, is the next evolution of the Buffett empire, which includes Margaritaville restaurants, themed resorts and even retirement communities.

The ship, formerly Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line’s flagship vessel, Grand Classica, has all the  themes quite familiar to Parrotheads: Frank and Lola’s Pizzeria, Port of Indecision Buffet, LandShark Sports Bar,  Margaritaville Coffee & Pastry Shop, the Euphoria Lounge, the Sunset Bar, a 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar and JWB Prime Steak & Seafood restaurant.

 

Additionally, the ship has leisure activities and entertainment, including the Par-A-Dice Casino, a Stars on the Water Theater, St. Somewhere Spa, Fins Up! Fitness Center, pools, a retail shop, and more.

No doubt it also has lots of margaritas – salt or no salt!? – and boat drinks. Along with plenty of Buffett music.
