A tropical resort in the Heart of America may seem to be like a ship out of water. But Jimmy Buffett fans know that some of his most popular concerts took place in landlocked cities – the name “Parrotheads” came during a show in Cincinnati, after all – so it’s not as as odd as it might seem that there is a Margaritaville Hotel Kansas.
Opening this June, it brings an island escape to the City of Fountains, one known more for its famous Kansas City BBQ than cheeseburgers in paradise and the four-time Super Bowl champion Chiefs than the sport of having boat drinks on a beach.
Still, the hotel features 228 guest rooms, including 11 suites, bars and restaurants, both an indoor and an outdoor pool and more than 13,000 square feet of event space.
“We’re thrilled to help bring the Margaritaville brand to the heart of the Kansas City metro area,” said Greg Maday, co-owner of Homefield KC ownership group (his partners are Trey Bowen, and Mathew Bowen). “Along with our partners at Sunflower Development Group, it’s an exciting milestone for us and for the community—we’re introducing a one-of-a-kind experience that brings a fun, laid-back vibe to the region.”
“As construction nears completion, and with the website now live and bookings open for late summer, we can’t wait to welcome our future guests to the hotel,” added Trey Bowen. “Whether you’re looking to relax and enjoy a meal at LandShark Bar & Grill, sip on a frozen cocktail at 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, or simply unwind by the pool, we’ve created a destination where guests can relax, recharge, and enjoy a taste of paradise.”

To celebrate its opening, the hotel has four special offers for guests:
