
Several Southern California businesses are reaching out to offer assistance to Los Angeles residents who have been affected, been forced to temporarily recloate or have lost thier homes or apartments in the massive LA wildfires that have leveled parts of the city.
One of them is the Hotel Indigo in San Diego. It is offering a 25% discount on the Best Flexible Rate and 50% off parking fees. Additionally, amenity and pet fees are waived. Guests must provide a valid Los Angeles address when booking and at check in, and the offer is good through Jan. 31.
Hotel Indigo is located at Ninth & Island in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, one of the most vibrant places in the city. Right out the door are restaurants, bars and the bayfront. The hotel itself has Borrego Rooftop Kitchen, an outdoor lounge, bar and restaurant with San Diego craft beers, creative cocktails and very good food. A DJ spins at night.

The LA Wildfires
The LA wildfires have leveled much of the northwestern part of the city to dust. Originally it was from Pacific Palisades to Malibu but strong hot desert winds have caused other fires to break out in other areas of Los Angeles. Several legendary bars and restaurants in Malibu are now nothing more than ash as well as homes and other businesses.
Los Angeles has never had a significant fire within the city in its history and tens of thousands of residents are either without homes or apartment, have been forced to evacuate so firefighters can battle the blazes or have thier bags packed ready to leave on a moment’s notice.
As of the weekend, the Palasades wildfire had grown to 22,660 acres with 11% containment. and was making a move toward high-end Brentwood and Bel-Air area, with a second front moving toward the Valley, Encino, and Sherman Oaks areas of Los Angeles. Heavier firefighting resources are being moved to the fire’s eastern flank, in Mandeville Canyon, authorities said.The Eaton Fire burning near Altadena has been listed at 15% contained , the Kenneth Fire is 80% contained and the Hurst Fire contained, according to Cal Fire.
The forecast calls for heightened fire weather with gusty offshore winds expected along the coast of Southern California and continuing into Sunday.
