Awards Shows Roll on a Second Night with Astra Awards Sponsored by Sommsation Wines

TV stars came out in force with a twist of a corkscrew last night at the historic Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles with the second night of Astra celebration and celebrities: the 2024 TV edition of the HOLLYWOOD CREATIVE ALLIANCE ASTRA AWARDS, sponsored by Sommsation Wines.

Hosted by comedian Aida Rodriguez, the HCA conferred numerous awards for TV shows, with Succession, Abbott Elementary and The Boys leading the wins.

HBO’S “Succession” took home the most awards of the evening for broadcast & network TV with five wins including Best Cable Drama Series, Best Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series. Best Writing in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series, and Best Directing in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series while ABC’S “Abbott Elementary” scored four wins, Best Broadcast Network Comedy Series Best Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actor in Broadcast Network or Cable Comedy Series and Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

In the streaming programs, Prime Video’s “The Boys” walked away with the most awards, six consisting of Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Drama Series, Best Streaming Drama Series. Best Directing in a Streaming Drama Series. Best Actor in a Streaming Drama Series. Best Casting in a Drama Series, and Best Stunts.

Celebrity presenters, guests and honorees included, among many others, Abigail Spencer (“Extended Family”); Al Yankovic; Antony Starr (“The Boys”); Anjali Bhimani (“Ms. Marvel”); Chace Crawford (“The Boys”); Garcelle Beauvais (“Black Girl Missing”); Kristen Chenoweth and her dog Thunder; Jack Quaid (“The Boys”); Jeremy Sisto (“FBI”); Jeri Ryan; Kelly Hu (“BMF”); Regina Taylor; Rob Morrow (“Shining Vale”); Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”); Terrence Terrell (“Obliterated”); Tahj Mowry (“Muppets Mayhem”); Tara Westwood (“Triggered”); and more.
