More than 100,000 fans pack into Bryant-Denny Stadium for Alabama football games.

With another run at a National Championship contending team, Alabama fans are rolling again in 2015.

Because of this there is more – much more – to attending a football game at the University of Alabama than just showing up with a ticket.

And even before the pre-game tailgate on the Quad and the march to Bryant-Denny Stadium, it’s essential to look the part of a Crimson Tide fan and to fit in with the tens of thousands of Crimson Tide fans.

This is a guide for those fans new to the Alabama experience, with a bit of humor thrown in for fun.

• Lunch or dinner at Dreamland Ribs, the quenessential college town eatery (and the best ribs anywhere): About $20.

• Alabama t-shirt to wear for Friday’s campus visit and bar hopping: $20

• Alabama t-shirt to wear to game: $20.

• Alabama shakers for the game: Free.

• Big crimson “A” pained on your face by attractive Alabama gal with knee-knocking Southern accent because you just can’t say no: Free.

• Alabama souvenir “Big Al” elephant: $25.

• Alabama pennant to put on your wall back home: $20.

• Alabama souvenir helmet to display back home: $25-75, depending on the size you choose.

• DVDs of great Alabama teams/moments of the past: $49.95 each (plus tax).

• “What it Means to Be Crimson Tide” book by former national. championship coach Gene Stallings: $19.95 (plus tax).

• Every book ever written about Bear Bryant: $500.

• Admission to Paul W. “Bear” Bryant Museum: $2.

• Admission to Coleman Coliseum to admire all of Alabama’s football trophies and awards: Free.

And, of course, the experience of attending an Alabama football game is beyond a pricetag.
