Nick Saban The Difference In Another ‘Game Of The Century’

Which offense is better? Which defense will crack under the pressure? The media’s endless gushing about Joe Burrow.
Tua, will he or won’t he?
All the questions and story lines surrounding another “Game of the Century” ignores the basic element surrounding the game. The #1 reason Alabama will be LSU in Tuscaloosa is simple: LSU is coached by Coach O. Alabama is coached by Nick Saban.
That’s it in a nutshell. You can talk matchup all day long, you can argue which offense is better, which defense will be able to make critical stops and wonder about Tua Tagovailoa’s health (and he will play).
The difference will come down to the head coaches.
Coach O has been smart enough to let his offensive and defensive coaches do most of the coaching. Instead of taking care of on-field details, he stands in front of the fans and media and says things in a gravely accent that only a true Cajun can understand. That’s a sound strategy.
But at some point in this game he’s going to have to make a big-time decision and whom do you trust more to get it right, him or Saban?
Among the things that make Saban so great is his tremendous preparation for opponents combined with his game-management acumen. He has a knack for knowing when to go for it on fourth down, when to run or to pass and to make game-changing decisions, such as his onsides kick that flipped the momentum to beat Clemson in that National Championship game.
Not even the most rabid “we’ve actually got a chance this time” LSU fan knows Coach O can’t match wits with Saban.
And this coaching difference is the #1 reason Alabama will defeat LSU.
