Vendor Arrested For Credit Card Attempted Scam
A vendor used a bogus credit card reader to make the charge, which should have been $20. The fan’s credit card company threw the red flag, alerting the customer, who was refunded the full amount.
The vendor, who worked for an independent contractor hired by the stadium, has been arrested and is facing charges of third-degree grand theft and possession of a skimming device and was issued a $10,000 bond, according to Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation records.
The fan was in the stands for the San Diego Chargers-Miami Dolphins game in Hard Rock Stadium. Watching the 0-4 Dolphins is painful enough for fans without having the pain of paying $362 for a beer. And not even a craft beer.
