Coronavirus Fears Yet To Affect NCAA Basketball Tournament

With the coronavirus scare causing major music festivals – South By Southwest, Coachella – to be canceled or postponed, sporting events being either canceled or played before limited crowds – we may be tearing up our March Madness 2020 brackets before we even have the chance to fill them out after Selection Sunday.
But as of this writing, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is still taking place as scheduled. CBS Sports and ESPN are talking about #1 seeds, Joe Lunardi is making his “last four in” and “last four out” lists and fans of teams on the bubble are optimistically hoping that their season-long mediocre team will suddenly spring to life and make a deep run in the conference tournament.
March Madness starts with the “First Four” on Tuesday, March 17 – yes, St. Patrick’s Day – and runs through to the Final Four, April 4-6 in Atlanta. That is, of course, if it takes place and anything is possible with the coronavirus fear.
Now whether or not fans will be allowed into the games is as up on the air as a game-winning three-pointer. Will it drop through the net or clang off the rim?
Stay tuned to PubClub.com because, like a quick point guard, things can turn on a dime.
