State Of Indiana Hosting All NCAA Men’s Basketball Games

March Madness 2020 dates, Final Four, college basketball
March Madness 2021 will be an all-Indiana affair as far as where the games will be played, and it will start the day after St. Patrick’s Day.
Here are the dates and locations as announced by the NCAA.
• First Four: Thursday, March 18
• First Round: March 19-20
• Second Round: March 21-22
The First Four and first and second rounds will be played at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Assembly Hall in Bloomington, along with Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
• Sweet 16: March 27-28.
The venues are Bankers Life Fieldhouse and Hinkle Fieldhouse

• Elite 8: March 29-30, Lucas Oil Stadium.
• Final Four: April 3 & 5, Lucas Oil Stadium
The 64-team field – 68 when factoring in the play-in teams – was announced on Sunday, March 14.
Normally the games start with the play-in games on Tuesday and Wednesday after Selection Sunday but with COVID testing there would not be not enough time for that to happen, so those games are scheduled to take place on that Thursday.
“The 2021 March Madness schedule is primarily a function of the health and safety protocols for all participants, respecting conference tournaments, balancing time away from campus for college student-athletes, competitive considerations for a national championship and fan engagement during a relatively traditional tournament timetable,” said Dan Gavitt, the NCAA’s senior vice president of basketball.
“We are most appreciative of CBS Sports and Turner Sports for their collaboration and support of the tournament.”
The NCAA has yet to announce fan capacity at the games.
