Special Post To PubClub

The design process of the rings for this season’s winning team just kicked off for the NFL champions.

Nearly after fourth months of anticipation, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will finally be taking home their Super Bowl rings.

This season ended on a Sunday evening, marking an end to sports bettors enthusiastically looking at NFL live odds.  The date for the team’s ring ceremony is set, and the Buccaneers have decided to hold the event on July 22, which falls precisely two days before the team’s training camp begins. While most NFL teams should report for training camp on July 27, the Buccaneers are given an exception to report earlier as they will be playing in the NFL opener this year.

When it comes to Super Bowl rings, no one has yet leaked a picture of the new ring. Nevertheless, you can be sure of two thing: the ring will highlight a lot of diamonds  and it will be worth more than your car.

Last season, the Chiefs received a ring that was adorned with 10.5 carats of gemstones, including 255 diamonds and 36 rubies.

Typically, teams come up with a whole lot of unique features on the ring to celebrate their victory that season. So, it won’t be surprising to see the Buccaneers rings being adorned with two Lombardi Trophies (as it was their second Super Bowl win) and some sort of symbol of Raymond James Stadium (as they came out to be the first team to win a Super Bowl in their home stadium).

When the rings are handed out, Tom Brady will celebrate his seventh ring, which is the most of any player in NFL history. Similarly, Rob Gronkowski will take home his fourth ring, the third-most in NFL history. If Gronk manages to secure one more Super Bowl, he will tie Charles Haley for the second-most rings of all time.

Furthermore, Kenjon Barner will also make some history during the ring ceremony. All thanks to Buccaneers winning this Super Bowl season, Barner now has three rings from three different teams to brag about. Currently, the record for the most Super Bowl rings   is owned by Matt Milen.

Jostens About the Super Bowl Ring

Jostens, who made 36 of the 54 rings for winning Super Bowl teams, will manufacture the ring for Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year. According to Chris Poitras, vice president, and general manager at Jostens, their goal is to tell the team’s story, the season, and the franchise in the most exclusive way possible.

Traditionally, the NFL covers the cost of nearly 150 rings for the championship team, which are awarded to coaches, players, executives, and others at the winning team’s discretion. Previously, Jostens’ has also mentioned that each set of Super Bowl rings is roughly valued at $5 million. Nevertheless, the team’s choice of design and the number of times the team has won will impact the final cost.

Though Poitras accepts the challenge of moving beyond what has been created previously, he states that the team at Jostens is up for the challenge of trying to do something new.

Jostens include gold, diamonds, and genuine gems like sapphires and rubies in the ring. And, the NFL allows Jostens a monetary allotment based on the current market of the materials. Typically, the design process extends up to eight weeks, where experts at Jostens speak with Buccaneers multiple times about their ideas.

After finalizing a design, the manufacturing process begins, which lasts for nearly two months. The finished products are finally handed to the winners during the special ceremony that will take place in the last week of June.
