Tickets Required For Fiesta Hermosa Labor Day Weekend Beer Garden & Bands

Hermosa Chamber Now Charging For Access To The Garden & The Bands

You will now have to pay to get into Fiesta Hermosa.

A fence will be put up around the food court and beer garden area (which is now simply called the Garden) and the Hermosa Chamber – which puts on the event – will be selling tickets for the traditionally free three-day festival on Labor Day Weekend.

And how much will those tickets cost? $15. A day. Or $40 for all three weekend days.

You can also fork over $100 a day to be in a VIP section, which includes an elevated and covered lounge seating near the beer garden stage, two drink tickets, beverage service and designated bathrooms.

“It’s not permanent,” Hermosa Chamber CEO Jessie Accamando said in a video announcement. The festival is scheduled for Sept. 4-6.

Charging for what used to be free is just one of several changes Accamando announced in the video. She also said there would not be vendor tents lining Pier Ave., and Hermosa Ave. Thus, the only street closure will be between Pier and 10th Street at the fenced-in entrance on Hermosa Ave.

Rather than tents, businesses will be encouraged to have what is basically a sidewalk sale. There is a news arts area between Valley and PCH on upper Hermosa Ave., which will be free.

There will also be fewer food vendors in the food court.

On the upside, local South Bay brewers, including Project Barley, will be pouring and the festival hours are extended until nighttime, 10 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday, and Monday at 8 p.m. In addition to Project Barley, Hermosa Brewing Company, The Brews Hall, Nosotros Tequila and Uncorked Wine Shop will all be serving at the festival.

As for future Fiesta Hermosa events, which in the past have been on both Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, that remains up to future planning by the chamber.

Thank you for your comment, Aaron. To note admission is for this Labor Day only. PubClub.com will keep you updated on the situation for future Fiesta Hermosa events.

This is utter bullshit. Yet another money grab and continued decline of the Hermosa I’ve lived in and loved for the last 10 years.. I’ve always gone to the food court and tried as much food as I could (and occasionally the beer tent) for years but I don’t think I want to go down this slippery slope. Pay to get in to pay to eat? Weak.

Thanks Meg. The article just really reports the facts offering no real opinion. I do know, based on my many years in the South Bay, that a lot of people are going to have an initial negative reaction and the article is somewhat more directed toward them. Hopefully the event will be an improvement over the past and a huge success. Cheers!

Kevin this really puts a negative light on the fiesta which I don’t think is warranted. It would be great if you could highlight all the positives and maybe explain why there is a one time cost this year.

You should be encouraging people to attend and supporting the fiesta, just my 2 cents.
