Nightlife Clubbing Rules, Dress Codes, Drink Prices & Meeting Girls & Guys

But not to worry, all PubClubbers go through it and by reading this article you’ll be able to go in like a cagy veteran from your very first visit. The key is being prepared and knowing what to expect before you get to the club.
Nightclub Club Entry Lines
The first thing to know about a club is that it’s not like going to a bar or a pub. There’s likely to be a line to get inside. In some cases, it’s a very long and slow-moving line. So be prepared. And know that at some clubs, you may never even get inside; at these places you must have the right “look,” which is often at the discretion of the guy at the door. If you do get turned away, just observe, then live and learn!
In case you are wondering, here’s why there are long & slow-moving lines at nightclubs.
Cover Charges At Nightclubs
Nightclubs usually charge to go inside. The cost varies from city to city and even the clubs themselves, but expect to pay $10-20 to $50-100 for mega clubs in big cities and top tourist destinations like Las Vegas or Ibiza.
Dress Codes For Nightclubs
You can’t show up dressed casually for a night of clubbing. You have to be well dressed (not tennis shoes, guys, and if you go for jeans, make sure they are stylish and certainly no shorts or ballcaps) or have on something that’s cool and hip. Girls, skirts and heels are recommended.
Inside The Club – What To See & Expect
Clubs are dark, loud with pumping music from a band or most likely a DJ (making it hard to carry on conversations) and large. Thee’s usually a few different rooms so walk around and check out the whole place. Some areas may be roped off for VIPs, who are really people who have paid a lot more money than you for a “premium” spot, often with bottle service (keep reading).
Clubs are also high-energy places, all created by that pumping music. They are definitely not places to go for a quiet night out on the town.
Drink Prices In Clubs
You’re going to pay a premium for cocktails and even beer in a nightclub – $10 or more for a beer and $15 or more for a mixed drink. If you want to be a high-roller, you can get bottle service, which is $200-500 for a bottle of alcohol, plus mixers, and a reserved table. This is usually for four to six or eight people.
For The Guys: Meeting Girls In Clubs
For most guys, this is the entire point of going to a club. And clubs are certainly a good place to find girls. Do know that girls like to dance and since it’s so loud, you’re going to have to dance too, to get any interaction with them. And in the USA, you’ll probably have to buy girls at least a couple rounds of drinks.
For the Girls: Meeting Guys In Clubs
Well ladies, this isn’t too tough, for men are everywhere! To meet them, make some “come hither” eye contact and show off your body and/or best physical attribute(s). Soon you’ll have men swarming around you like bugs at a light.
Know, however, that not all the guys in clubs are the best representative of the male species.
Overview On What To Know About Nightclubs
You can charge into it or kind of soak it all in to get the hang of how nightclubs work and the scene. Just know that things are more refined – that is to say, not nearly as casual – than at a bar or pub. Dress and act accordingly.
And finally, enjoy it!
