Miss Flora-Bama 2021 To Be Crowned On Saturday, Sept. 4

Article Updated August 2025
The Alabama Crimson Tide football opener against the Florida State Seminoles won’t be the only thing some people in the South will be keeping their eyes on this Labor Day Weekend.
Those in the Flora-Bama – the beach bar that was the the inspiration for the Jimmy Buffett song “Bama Breeze” – will have their eyes glued to a stage instead of a TV. The reason is the only thing that can take people’s attention away from on-field action in this college football-crazed area: a bikini contest!
The annual Flora-Bama Labor Day Weekend Bikini Contest is Saturday, Aug. 30 at 3 p.m. That is right after Tide’s game kick offs at 2:30 p.m., so people will have to enjoy both the bikinis and Bama football dividing their attention. Unless they are Auburn fans since their team played on Friday night.
The girls compete for the title of Miss Flora-Bama 2025. They can win prizes and cash, with the winner getting $5,000. Many of the entries have already qualified by winning other Flora-Bama contests throughout the year: Miss Mullet Toss, Miss Memorial Day and Miss Firecracker.
The Flora-Bama is a famous beach bar in these parts, located on the beach in front of the Perdido Pass Bridge on the Alabama-Florida border. True to its fun and carefree atmosphere it hosts all kind of fun events, including the bikini contests, huge concerts on the beach and most notably the International Mullet Toss each April.
It also features live music 365 days a year from local bands to national acts.
It is not associated with the MTV show of the same name.
Contestants can register on the Flora-Bama website at: FLORA-BAMA BIKINI CONTEST
