In the U District, along The Ave and on Husky Harbor, fans of the University of Washington team support their team whether its sunny or raining. That applies to how the Huskies are playing as much as it does to the weather.
So what should Huskies fans be drinking? Start with something purple, add a little Washington flavor, throw in some Apple Cup rivalry and save something especially nasty for Oregon.
There is already a cocktail called the Purple Haze which plays on one of the school colors and the often-damp Seattle weather. But it ignores one key element of the state of Washington: apples. A Huskie friend of PubClub feels an Apple Cup Appletini is a good cocktail to drink, especially during the Apple Cup game between the Huskies and the Washington State Cougars.
While sailgating, they could have a Kick Kalen DeBoer, a “get out the anger” whiskey-based drink, a Manhattan with blue curacao named after the coach who got the Huskies to the national title game in 2024 (2023 season) only to leave for Alabama the next week.
The Duck Fart is a good shot to have when the Huskies are playing the hated Oregon Ducks.
And there is, of course Red Hook Ale Brewery beer, which was established in Seattle in 1981. In 2024, the company started brewing a Montlake Gameday Gold Lager, a 5.0% light lager that is sold in Huskie Stadium. And get this:
gor the 2026 season, Husky Stadium introduced four theme-named cocktails: Purple Reign, Sailgate Punch, Husky Sour and Montlake Margarita.
