Darling Harbor Location Will Attract Tourists But Locals Can Also Toss Out The Anchor
By Kevin Wilkerson, PubClub.com Travel Blogger & Parrothead
I’m always looking for a smart woman in a real short skirt. You know, one that knows how to flirt.
And perhaps she’s waiting for me at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville in Sydney, Australia.
What a perfect combination, a Margaritaville in Sydney, and what took so long!? Did Jimmy’s walking off the stage at the Opera House serve as a slapping of the hand to the head? Well no, it was in the works long before that scary moment, and the concert was designed to promote his bar and restaurant.
And you can’t get a more perfect blending of people and lifestyle outside of Florida than Buffett and Aussies. It’s like, well, booze in the blender and soon it will render…a party!
Aussies love life and if they are not enjoying it in Australia, then they are spreading their joy across the globe. You can have a mate helping you on a chair lift in Whistler in January, then be partying with him (or her) on Mykonos’ Paradise Beach in July. When Aussies change their latitude, they don’t need to change their attitude.
The Aussies, who drink a lot of beer, will have to adjust to drinking margaritas – boyz, take it easy on The Perfect Margarita until you get used to the tequila in it – and boat drinks.
The location of Margaritaville Sydney is in a place that will attract tourists, but locals should find it a place to toss out their anchor, as well.
Update: I made it into Margaritaville and will do a full review in another post. For the moment, let’s say any Parrothead will feel at home there, but you’re not likely to toss out the anchor for long if you’re single looking for action.
For that, the Opera Bar is the best place to hang in Sydney, each and every afternoon.
