This Southern California Ski Resort Has Hot Summertime Fun Activities
One of the reasons for that is Big Bear Speedway, a winning Los Angeles-area go-kart track.
Big Bear Speedway is a large, multi-turn facility with big-time go-karts. It’s website – Speedway | Big Bear Snow Play – describes it this way:
“Big Bear Speedway RT8 Sodi Karts Sodi Kart’s RT8 is a mini-race car with features straight from the automotive industry, like self-adjusting hydraulic brakes and vacuum fuel pumps. The leader in the kart racing craze that’s sweeping the country, Sodi Karts balance speed and safety with Four Point seat belts and Extra Enhanced remote controls that the pit crew can shut down or throttle back any or all karts at any time for safety. The karts handle like race cars with pinpoint steering and the Honda Whisper Motors generate amazing power, enough for cars to lay rubber through turns though virtually impossible to roll. Sodi RT8 sports design elegance and fully adjustable patented pedals to serve up the ultimate race experience.”
Yeah!
And while gearheads know that any kind of racing can be expensive it’s not at Big Bear Speedway; it’s just $15 for one race and $20 for a double-kart (two people in the vehicle).
Big Bear Speedway is part of an entertainment area called Big Bear Snowplow, which also has a Ropes Course aerial adventure with a harness, day and night snowtubing at an area formerly known as Rebel Ridge (open November thru Easter Weekend) and Glow Tubing (winter months).
There is also a Base Lodge with snacks and video games.
