Opening Day Set For Thanksgiving
November has greeted Big Sky Resort in Montana with a fresh blanket of snow.
The resort received more than six inches mid-mountain on Monday and a whopping 20 inches on Tuesday as a storm is rolling through the Western USA the first week of November.
And more is expected for the next week.
Big Sky, which opens on Thanksgiving Day, has been making snow since Oct. 22. The Madison Base area is set to open on December 11.
The resort is also basking from off-season improvements, including terrain park changes and upgrades and new intermediate ski runs.
On Dec. 5-8 it is holding its Women’s Early Bird Clinic, while the Dan Egan Early Bird Camp is Dec. 14-15,
The women’s clinic is taught by women, for women and “removes the pressure of learning to ski like a man,” the resort says in its description.
Dan Egan’s Early Bird Camp includes two days of guiding and individualized instruction by Dan Egan and his team of trainers plus video movement analysis. Egan is one of the “Top Skiers of All Time”, as named by Powder Magazine.
Both ski schools are designed for intermediate and above skiers who want to get to the next level.
