Skiers And Snowboarders Give ‘Whoops And Cheers’ On The Chairlift

After a week of snowstorms and ideal snow-making conditions, Big Sk Resort in Montana opened for one day on Saturday, much to the delight of skiers and snowboarders.
“The Swift Current chair lift opened at 9 a.m., to the whoops and cheers of skiers and snowboarders who began lining up well before 8 a.m,” the resort stated in a press release.
With the natural and man-made snow, Big Sky had 30 inches of powder.
In addition to the Swift Current chair, the Explorer lift was also open.
This was a one-day event; the resort opens for the 2015-15 season on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.
Several ski resorts in the western United States received substantial snow this past week as a Pacific NW storm rolled through the area.
Mt. High outside of Los Angeles opened for a day and Mammoth Mountain wound up opening for the season six days early on Thursday after receiving a whopping three feet of snow.
Whistler posted photos of its lifts covered in snow on social media.
Already, this is building to be a banner year for skiers and snowboarders which means a busy season for ski resorts.
