Smackfest Events Puts On A German Beer Festival In October

Oktoberfest comes to the Beach Cities with the second annual South Bay Oktobefest to be held Saturday, Rocktober 14, 2017, at Bay Club in Redondo Beach, CA.
Put on by Smackfest Events and and local star promoter Berry Bly, the event features beers (obviously), food, and music from Joe’s Band and Soul Shaker.
Wonder if they know “Roll Out The Barrel.” And how about some of those other songs one hears at Oktoberfest tents, such as PubClub.com’s favorite, “Ein Prosit,” in which you raise the beer mugs and sway back and forth on top of a large picnic table.
There won’t be any large picnic tables at Bay Club, but there will be a good-looking, fun-loving crowd. Feel free to dress in a barmaid costume or in lederhosen. The event will be held outdoors in the two workout areas.
Ticket prices have yet to be set; they go on sale Sept. 15. PubClub.com will, of course, post those important details as soon as they are released.

Oktoberfest events are fun because, well, it involves drinking lots of beer. This one will also have wine and champagne, so it’s more like the hugely successful Beach Cities Wine & Craft Beer Festival held at Bay Club in May.
That inaugural event sold out in just three days so you can bet this one will do the same. So don’t delay, get your tickets when they go on sale.
You can get in the oompha mood by also going to the Alpine Village Oktoberfest in Munich, held in a huge bierhall; that runs from Sept. 8-Oct. 28 ($10). Of course, many locals can just bike, walk or take a short Uber ride to the Bay Club Oktoberfest.
