Balboa & Newport Pier Bars To Be Filled With A Ho-Ho-Ho Holiday Party
The 2015 edition of the popular Santa Pub Crawl in Newport Beach is set for Saturday, Dec. 12.
Just how popular is it? There are actually two pub crawls to accommodate all the participants, which total around 500 people bar-hopping through Newport Beach in Santa costumes.
One crawls around the Balboa Pier and the other is at the Newport Pier. Here’s the details on what has become Newport’s largest charity pub crawl.
The meeting spots are Woody’s Wharf for the Balboa group and Newport Landing Restaurant for the Newport group. You will need a wristband ($15 in advance, $20 on site) to get drink specials at the bars. The meeting time is from 9-10 p.m.
The bars are as follows. But note that, due to the large number of people and the small size of the bars, there is no set time to be at each bar. You MUST be in costume – such as Santa or an elf or something else related to Santa – to get a wristband and thus the drink specials.
Balboa Pier Bars:
• Woody’s Wharf
• Blue Beet
• Sharkeez
• Stag Bar + Kitchen
• Beach Ball
• Mutt Lynch’s
Newport Pier Bars:
• Newport Landing Restaurant
• Class of ’47
• Balboa Saloon
• Cruisers Pizza Bar And Grill
• Mavrick’s Gastropub
• Cabo Cantina
All proceeds from pub crawl are donated to Project Access, a local non-profit that provides health, education and employment services to families, children and seniors living in low-income housing communities.
