Ein Prost At These German Beer Halls In L.A.

In a spread-out city, the Oktoberfest celebrations are spread out, so here’s the best places to drink German beer and party with other singles.
1.) OLD WORLD HUNTINGTON BEACH
The best place for singles, Old World is like being in the Hofbrau Haus in Munich. Well, okay NOTHING is like that except the Hofbrau Haus in Munich but this is similar in that it’s an all-out party where you drink beer and meet and mingle with other singles, who far outnumber couples.
The venue is small, at least by Oktoberfest standards, and that adds to its allure for singles; it’s easy to mingle! The band is from Germany, the dance floor spills out into the rest of the building and everyone is laughing, singing, dancing and having fun. Frankly, it’s so much fun it’s almost a blur.
There’s a patio outside with food, a bar inside where you can have drunken but quieter conversations for when you meet someone and an all-out party atmosphere.
It’s also locally famous for its sexy barmaids who pour beer and walk around with trays of shots.
2.) ALPINE VILLAGE, TORRANCE

LA’s largest Oktoberfest celebration takes place in a large building with long lines of picnic tables and a row of beer stations and live band (also from Germany).
It’s pretty good from a singles standpoint because it has such a large pool of singles in which to draw from in the South Bay, although you’ll find more couples and certainly more married people here than at Old World.
3.) BIG BEAR OKTOBERFEST

This is a fun event if for no other reason you’re out of town on a road trip. And you know how people act when they are away from home!
Here you can actually buy a small keg and take it around with you. It takes place in the Big Bear Convention Center and while it’s not the wild party scene of Old World or nearly as big as Alpine Village, you could wind up having even more fun here because you and most other people are on somewhat of a road trip.

4.) NEWPORT DUNES, NEWPORT BEACH
The newest Oktoberfest celebration happens here on Saturdays and Sundays from Noon-8 p.m. This is a great location right on the back bay of Newport Beach and there’s a really good restaurant on site.
