The biggest event in America is a time for celebration, fireworks and – for PubClubbers – enjoying daylife and nightlife. Here is a rundown of the very best of the best things to do and places to be for the 4th of July!
Hermosa Beach Ironman
When you think of “ironman,” a rugged athletic endurance event with three areas of strain most likely come to mind. The Hermosa Beach Ironman is similar only in the area that it, too, has three parts of athletic competition. But it is the only ironman that includes beer chugging. That’s right, after running a mile on the beach and paddleboarding a mile in the Pacific Ocean, competitors chug a 6-pack of beer. They must do the latter in front of a judge, who makes sure they don’t cheat. Spectators – many of whom are also drinking beer, under the “it’s okay because it’s the Ironman” eyes of the Hermosa Beach Police – fill up the area in the traditional start to what is a wild Fourth of July party in Hermosa Beach. If you’re in the LA area, go there and check it out in the morning!

Hermosa Beach Fourth of July
The Ironman starts the day and The Strand continues it into the night. All up and down this beachfront walk/bike path are house parties large and small. Dudes, you have to watch from the outside; girls, you can enter. THE party is taking place at you-know-where (well, long-time Beach Cities folks know anyway) and Joe’s Band is playing there. It’s going to be EPIC!
