PubClub.com Party Report: Boat Parades & 12 Bars Of Christmas Pub Crawl

The heart of the holiday season in Los Angeles is here.
The second week of December brings us pub crawls, parades of boats and a spectacular holiday fireworks show over the beach.
So put on your Santa hat and grab a holiday cocktail. It’s time to get merry.

• Wednesday, Dec. 6 – Champagne For Charity At The Slip Bar
A blind tasting of Cava, Proseco, Champagne and Sparkling Wine at the Slip Bar & Eatery at the Redondo Beach Pier. The cost is $25 for five glasses. It starts at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit Restaurants Care, an Emergency Assistance Fund for restaurant workers affected by the Napa and Sonoma county fires.
• Friday, Dec. 8 – 12 Bars Of Christmas Hermosa Beach
This annual affair of South Bay singles hits 12 bars at and around the Hermosa Pier. There are drink specials at every stop. Yes, all 12 of them! The event is free but you must check in with Nick at the first bar to get your badge to get the drink specials. And be sure and take part in the group photo!

• Saturday – Marina Del Rey & Redondo Beach Boat Parades
Marina del Rey. This large marina fills up with decorated boats, including several yachts. There’s a main viewing area that’s the prime party place, tho you have to bring your own party.

Redondo Beach. The smallest boat parade in Los Angeles, it involves only a dozen or so boats going back and forth in the channel. So after 30 or 45 minutes you’ve pretty seen it all. Still, there’s several hundred people and it really serves as a launching pad to go out in Redondo. Speaking of which, the aforementioned Slip Bar is having a post-parade party. Mention “boat parade” or “yacht club” for drink specials, including a $4 boat drink (how appropriate!). Shade Hotel is also opening its rooftop bar for a party.

Long Beach: There are two boat parades in Long Beach, the Parade Of 1000 Lights on Dec. 9 around Shoreline Village and the Naples Boat Parade on Dec. 16.

• Sunday – Manhattan Beach Holiday Fireworks
Quite simply, this is one of the best holiday events anywhere in the world. The fireworks are spectacular, the mood is as festive as you’ll find anywhere and of course, there are private parties at nearly every house along The Strand.

Dec. 16 – Santa Monica Santa Pub Crawl
