South Bay Shines At Inaugural Smackfest Events Party

Put on by Smackfest Events – yes, those fine folks who bring us the Smackfest beach volleyball tournament – it added a bit of South Bay class to the laid-back beach communities.
More than 600 people (this number includes the vendors) were at the event, drinking dozens of fine craft beers and wines with live music and a DJ providing a hip musical background to what was really a hot singles event that was not an over-the-edge party but rather a somewhat sophisticated gathering of mostly South Bay singles.
In other words, it was just what the South Bay needs, a perfect primer to Smackfest in July and the larger Trump National Wine & Beer Festival in August (tickets for that event go on sale in late June).
The event was held on the side “yards” of the health club and contained wine, craft beer and food booths. PubClub.com spent most of our day by the Kona Brewing tent, encouraging the many lovely ladies to sign up for the raffle and win a way-cool Kona Strand Cruiser.

Hundreds of people signed up for the raffle and every girl (and a few guys) tried to influence PubClub with the outcome but ultimately it was Christy Marquez of Venice who won it. She was as golden as Big Wave Golden Ale afterward, glowing as much as the sun that was setting over King Harbor.
So the immediate consensus was this: it was an awesome event, one that was classy yet also Beach Cities fun and one people will go to again in a heartbeat.
Here’s a rundown of what was served at this inaugural event.
