Easter Keg Hunt, Live Music (Elvis, Beatles, Rolling Stones) & Easter Mimosas Brunches
Welcome to the PubClub.com South Bay Party Report. The Easter Edition!
Happy Easter!
Yes, it’s Easter Weekend and we’re going to be like bunnies and do a lot of bar hopping because there’s a lot “hoppening” ha ha.
So let’s hop right to it!
EASTER KEG HUNT
Remember when you were kids and your parents or your neighbor’s parents would hide Easter eggs and you would go hunt for them in the yard? Well, now we’re all adults, live in the South Bay and we don’t hunt for eggs.
Instead, we hunt for kegs!
Saturday is the Easter Keg Hunt in El Segundo and it’s as fun as it sounds. Here, you sign up as team, dress up in costume (think Smackfest without the volleyball) and go from bar to bar seeking clues to find kegs hidden around town. If you just want to be a spectator, you can do that, too, making this a pub crawl in an area where we don’t often go to the bars.
Teams get wristbands for discounted drinks at the bars. Here’s where to sign up and all the deets you need. See you there!?

Live Music In The South Bay
We have great local bands and live music venues here, and on Friday and Saturday each will be filling the South Bay with sounds.
FRIDAY – BARLEY AT SAINT ROCKE
The artists formerly known as Barley Legal are playing here during Happy Hour, from 6-6:30. Of course, Happy Hour at Saint Rocke goes longer than that, from 6-8, with $5 beers, wines and appetizers.
SATURDAY – ELVIS, THE BEATLES AND THE STONES @ SAINT ROCKE
Graceband, the band that puts on a great live Elvis show complete with horns and background singers, is back at Saint Rocke this Saturday. Chris, who “plays” Elvis, comes out in a wig so ridiculously bad you know the band doesn’t take this Elvis thing too seriously and you shouldn’t either. It’s a fun, entertaining show.
They are joined by Beatles vs. Stones in a grand band “shootout.” Starts at 8:30. Tickets: $20.
SATURDAY – SHARI ‘EL’ PUORTO @ THE SLIP BAR
Shari has a two-person set at The Slip Bar in Redondo Beach from 8-11. She may be on the verge of hitting it big-time (finally, right!?) as her new CD, “My Obsession,” is climbing up the blues charts. It’s #8 on the Contemporary Blues Album chart. Way to go Shari!
EASTER BRUNCH
Sunday is Easter Sunday and after you do as your mother wishes and go to church, then hit one of the local bars for a bottomless mimosa brunch! Sharkeez, Patrick Molloy’s and American Junkie do this on the pier, BALEENKitchen (till 2) and R10 (till 3) are two places at the RB Pier.
Wrap up your weekend with great live blues at HBYC in Hermosa Beach (6-8).
SHADE HOTEL REDONDO BEACH DELAYED OPENING
This is a real bummer – Shade Hotel has suffered a setback and won’t be opening in May after all. It’s now going to be late summer. Here’s why:

SMACKFEST EVENTS
It’s summertime! Which of course here is nearly a year-round thing but you know it’s really coming when the Smackfest Events classes begin on the beach. The coed 4s league is already underway, Hermosa volleyball classes start Thursday, the coed kickball league starts the 30th and Saturday volleyball classes start April 2.
