Beach Cities Beer & Wine Festival, Free Wine & Food & Fun Party Photos

Welcome to the PubClub.com South Bay Party Report for the week of May 11-15!
The Party Report is brought to you by Kona Brewing, your soothing South Bay Liquid Aloha beer!
FREE FOOD & WINE WEDNESDAY
Yes, free wine and food from LaVita Café! It’s Wine Down Wednesday at Bay Club in El Segundo (off Rosecrans). Music is from Joe’s Band “light,” Joe Middler’s jazzy quartet. How’s this for a great way to start a busy party weekend, right!?
Time: 6-8 p.m.
BEACH CITIES BEER & WINE FESTIVAL SATURDAY

The weather is looking good for Saturday’s big South Bay event! Remember, it’s starts at 2 p.m., and PubClub suggests arriving by 1:45 so you can get in and charge straight to the wine and beer stations. At 5, we’ll be giving away that awesome baby blue Kona Brewing bicycle. When you enter, you’ll be given a card to vote for your favorite wine and beer and this will become your raffle ticket. This is at the Bay Club on Harbor Drive in King Harbor Redondo Beach. So don’t go to the wrong Bay Club!
Yes, it’s sold out but if you’re looking for tickets – or have any for sale – I suggest going to the event’s Facebook page and posting or search the posts.

SHADE & THE SHELLBACK – KENTUCKY DERBY REWIND
Last week, the Party Report failed to include the Kentucky Derby party at Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach. Oops! Well it was outstanding, a couple hundred people in Derby attire drinking Mint Juleps and champagne (the girls) and beer (the boys).
It was kind of like being in a VIP event at the actual Kentucky Derby.
This is a highly recommended event for next year!

Afterward, several of the people wound up at Shellback Tavern and it was here – and PubClub just loves this – that those pretty girls who wouldn’t give some of us guys the time of day at Shade were suddenly drinking beers, playing flip cup and chatting us up like old friends.
It’s funny how, in the South Bay at least, the environment can dictate one’s social behavior.
CINCO DE MAYO SMACKFEST BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
Here’s some photos from this event which took place on Saturday after Cinco on Hermosa Beach.

BAY TO BREAKERS – THE MARDI GRAS OF THE WEST COAST IS SUNDAY
One of the wildest, craziest and most fun events on the West Coast is taking place this Sunday. It’s Bay to Breakers in San Francisco.
Technically, it’s a foot race from the bay (Bay Bridge) to the breakers at the end of Golden Gate Park. But what it really is, is a moving street party, which is why PubClub calls it the “Mardi Gras of the West Coast.”
Think of it as a mobile 6-man with people in costumes consuming concealed cocktails (they’ve had an alcohol “crackdown,” too, but they can’t stop 75,000 people since everyone is on the move). Along the way, people who live there have house parties that spill out into the street.
This thing is so much fun that unlike most races, the objective here is not to finish. Because when you finish it’s over. But then the smart people go to Pier 23 back at the bay.
