Gordon & MacPahil Distillery Tastes In Five-Course Pairing
The Tam O’Shanter Restaurant in Los Angeles is hosing a five-course whiskey pairing dinner from appetizers to dessert.
It takes place on Thursday, April 12 (yes, just before tax day) and features a meal created by executive chef Juan Escamilla with select whisky pairings. Joseph McCluskey of Gordon & MacPhail will be on hand to talk about each pairing and the distillery’s history and craft.
Here is a rundown of the dinner and pairings:
Appetizer: Cocktails with canapes (paired with Benromach Scotch Whisky);
First Course: Pan seared foie gras on brioche toast (paired with Glen Grant Distillery 10yr);
Second Course: Grilled little gem lettuces with anchovies, shaved parmigiana and house Caesar dressing (paired with Caol Ila Distillery 10yr);
Entrée Course: Coffee crusted filet mignon with glazed baby carrots and crispy potatoes (paired with Linkwood Distillery 21yr);
Dessert: Chocolate olive oil cake with whipped mascarpone and berries (paired with Littlemill Distillery 24yr)
