Bottomless Mimosas Or Craft Beer From Peter B’s
The Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey, CA, has a trio of package deals for the winter of 2016-17.
Each package includes drinks, either bottomless mimosas or craft beers. They include the room, the heated pool and Jacuzzi and poolside cabanas and WiFi. The packages are good from October thru Jan. 31.
Here are specifics of each package.
• Winter Breakfast & Bottomless Mimosas – $199
This includes the weekend brunch for two at Jack’s Restaurant, which includes free mimosas! The breakfast is great, a full buffet of everything you need to fill you up for the day. Eat inside or if the sun is out, on the patio by the fire pit overlooking the boats in Monterey Bay.
• Craft Beer Flights From Peter B’s Brewpub – $199
The Portola is attached to the excellent Peter B’s Brewpub, which brews its own beer. Several of those beers have won multiple craft beer awards. With this package, you get two flights of those craft beers, plus an appetizer.
Peter B’s has very good food – the calzones, for instance, are excellent – and it’s a popular locals’ hangout, especially for sports and weekends. The fire pit patio is a great place to hang out and have a few craft beers.
• Breakfast For 4 – $225
If you have kids with you, this is perfect because it’s breakfast for four at Jack’s. At least one of the parents should take it easy on the bottomless mimosas, tho! Either that or after breakfast, let the kids take part in the guided treasure hunt around the property; this is the Portola Pirate Program for kids ages 3-12.
Heck, if you don’t have kids, or they are not with you, make a weekend of it and do the mimosas one day and the craft beer flights the next!
The Portola Hotel & Spa is in an ideal location. It’s at the end of Alvarado Street (basically downtown Monterey) and backs up to Fisherman’s Wharf.
There’s a wine tasting room across the sidewalk and you can also rent fun little yellow cars from Sea Car Tours located outside of the hotel.
The weather in the fall and winter is mostly sunny, tho definitely dress warm at night as temperatures routinely drop into the low 50s.
