Monterey Accommodations With Fine Food At Jack’s Restaurant

The Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey, CA, is celebrating the arrival of 2016 well beyond New Year’s Eve.
It is offering a package deal thru the month of January that includes its brunch buffet – which comes with bottomless mimosas – starting at $199/night.
The brunch – normally just $19.99 anyway – consists of omlettes from an omelette station, applewood bacon, pork sausage links, cereals, fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, smoked salmon, French toast, Belgian waffles, pastries and muffins and Chef Jason’s famous cranberry & apricot scones.

All this is served in Jack’s Restaurant & Lounge, a beautifully-appointed dining spot just off the Portola’s lobby. You can eat inside or outside by a fire pit.
The hotel has nautical-themed rooms, some of which have Monterey Bay views, a fitness center, Jacuzzi and heated pool. You also get a chocolate cookie upon check-in at the Portola.
The Portola has other winter package deals, as well, including one that comes with tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, also starting at $199.
The location is ideal, right by the bay and just in front of Fisherman’s Wharf. There’s a wine-tasting bar across the north-side walkway and you can rent mini-cars of Sea Car Tours for a unique tour of Monterey, Cannery Row and jaw-dropping Pacific Grove.
