NVFF, Which Features Films, Food & Wine, To Donate To Disaster Relief Fun
Despite the devastating fires that have charred many parts of California’s coveted wine country – and destroyed at least a dozen wineries, along with homes and businesses – the 2017 Napa Valley Film Festival will go on as scheduled.
The event is Nov. 8-12, and officials have announced the festival will be making a donation of pass sales to the Napa Valley Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund.
NVFF will directly support the local community by donating 10% of all pass sales revenue from Oct. 16 through the festival to the Napa Valley Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund. Presenting sponsor Lexus is also donating 1,000 tickets to select movies for those impacted by the fires.
“Our hearts and thoughts continue to be with all of our Napa and Sonoma County families, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and partners during this difficult time,” said NVFF co-founders/directors Marc and Brenda Lhormer.
“Our intention is to put on the most memorable and meaningful film festival to date. Our partners and venues are eager to share this festival with those who love and need great stories, conversation, and bonding experiences. Festivalgoers will be able to support the Valley’s rebuilding efforts by booking hotel rooms and making restaurant reservations. This will all add positive economic impact during the Valley’s time of need.”
The festival features more than 300 filmmakers to the festival, as well as honoring Will Ferrell, Nancy Meyers, Michael Shannon and Michael Stuhlbarg. More than 120 films will be screened, including highly anticipated award-contenders such as Call Me By Your Name, I, Tonya, Molly’s Game and The Shape of Water.
In additional to the films, the Napa Valley Film Festival features food and wine events. There are culinary demonstrations; chefs; film, food and wine pairings; wine tastings, a wine pavilion and two-hour “Napa Intermissions” of wine drinking.
