Will Parrotheads Flock ForThis Jimmy Buffett-Themed Place To Stay?

The San Diego Gaslamp is not generally a place for themed businesses – like are right at home by amusement parks or in Las Vegas – but it is getting one when the Margaritaville Hotel opens sometime in 2021.
It is taking over the Hotel Solamar at 436 Sixth Ave.
Parent company Pebblebrook Hotel Trust and Margaritaville Enterprises must feel San Diego is a prime place for flocking Parrotheads, for this is the second planned hotel in the city, the other one being in Mission Bay at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa.
“We are excited to announce our second hotel in affiliation with Margaritaville in San Diego,” Jon E. Bortz, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust said in a press release.
“The downtown location in San Diego’s famed Gaslamp Quarter will provide convention goers, leisure guests and corporate travelers a unique experience in very close proximity to the city’s dining, entertainment and retail venues. We look forward to taking advantage of this ever-growing lifestyle affiliation, while also benefiting from operating synergies we believe will assist in significantly lifting the financial performance of this extremely well-located asset.
Margaritaville hotels are usually located on the water or in a very touristy area, certainly not downtown of a major city. They have pool bars and the signature Margaritaville restaurant – which has a potent “Perfect Margarita”on the menu and features TropRock bands – tho these is no indication of what will be included in the San Diego property.
Pebblebrook acquired the Solamar San Diego Hotel from Kimpton Hotels in 2018 and will assist with the transition along with the resort’s current management company which will operate the property as Hotel Solamar until the hotel is reflagged as Margaritaville.
that’s great
Parrotheads may be flocking to San Diego soon!
