Continual Transportation Along The Strip On NYE In Sin City

When you walk outside of a casino on New Year’s Eve and are halted by a huge line for a cab, then consider this alternative: the Las Vegas Monorail.
On NYE, the Monorail will run non-stop throughout the night. In fact, it will operate for 43 straight hours, from 7 a.m., on New Year’s Eve until Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 2 a.m.
Additionally, Monorail riders can get credits on Lyft, for getting to and from the Monorail. Anyone who purchases an unlimited-ride pass on the Monorail can receive $5 in Lyft credit. Unlimited-ride passes may be purchased here.
Monorail riders who do not plan to use Lyft and who wish to purchase any unlimited-ride pass can use this link to receive 10 percent off the fare.
In conjunction with the newly launched Anti-DUI Coalition, new and existing Lyft users can also use this link to receive $5 off two Lyft rides on New Year’s Eve between Dec 31, 2017 7 a.m. and Jan 1, 2018 12:01 p.m.
Locals can ride for $1 on New Year’s Eve. They must present a local Nevada ID at any Monorail ticket office, which will stay open until 11 p.m.
The Monorail goes behind the Strip from the MGM Grand to the SLS Hotel, It’s quick, efficient and on New Year’s Eve can even be a pretty lively place to meet people after the fireworks show and the bars.
With long lines for taxis on NYE, the Monorail provides a quick – and cheap – transportation alternative for getting you both to the party and back to the hotel from the party throughout the Vegas New Year’s Eve experience.
Alternatives To Taxis For NYE In Vegas
PubClub.com likes and often uses the monorail. We used to use “The Deuce” but it’s often overcrowded and it’s no longer $2 a trip; it’s $6 for two hours or $8 for a 24-hours which is not bad, of course.
It’s important to note The Deuce is not operating on NYE because The Strip is closed to traffic from 5:45 p.m.-4 a.m., due to the block party and fireworks show.
The Monorail is $10 for a one-day pass, $19.28 for two days, $25.20 for three days. It has stops at the back of the casinos with a main one behind the Observation Wheel.
“We’re happy to extend our hours so New Year’s revelers can celebrate worry-free throughout the night on the Las Vegas Strip,” said Ingrid Reisman, vice president and chief marketing officer, Las Vegas Monorail.
The Monorail has five stations along the Las Vegas Strip: MGM Grand; Bally’s/Paris Las Vegas; Flamingo/Caesars Palace; Harrah’s/The LINQ and SLS Las Vegas. Two more stations are located at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Westgate Resort & Casino.
