NYE Party On The Strip & Champagne Brunches Top The To-To List
One of the problems with being in a place for New Year’s Eve with so much around you is that you’re often spending your time trying to figure out exactly what to do and thus, wind up not doing enough things.
Or if you’re in a group, some people want to do this, another couple of people want to do that, and you either split up and do your own thing or do nothing at all.
The next thing you know you’re throwing your clothes into your suitcase in a kind of depressed manner, saying something along the lines of “we should have stayed at home.”
This happens a lot in Las Vegas for NYE. But don’t be sitting around when you can be having a blast by doing these fun things in Sin City leading up to NYE, on NYE and also on New Year’s Day.
Top 5 Vegas Activities For Spending New Year’s In Vegas
1.) Go On A Bar Crawl Of The Casino Lounges. The lounges are the most overlooked fun bars in Vegas. They are usually in the middle of the casinos so they make for great people watching, it’s easy to meet other people because you’re seated and will likely be right next to other travelers (especially if you have a fun group), and many have live entertainment. And, unlike many bars and certainly the mega-clubs, there’s no line and no cover. Two recommendations: eyecandy in Mandalay Bay and the lounge in the MGM by the lion habitat.
2.) Go To A Dueling Piano Bar. These are always fun places to party in Vegas. I like the one at New York/New York. Sometimes it has cover charges ($10-15). Another one, which is free, is at Harrah’s. This one is smaller and more casual which, with the right crowd and the right people on the piano, can make it more fun than NY/NY.
3.) Visit The Mob Museum Or the Neon Museum. Or the “Pawn Stars” Shop. Get off the Strip and do something in downtown Vegas (see below for NYE night, tho) or elsewhere.
4.) Get Drinks & Do The Strip On New Year’s Eve. You can take drinks onto The Strip for the NYE block party, which is way better with more people than the party on Fremont Street.
5.) Do A Champagne Brunch On New Year’s Day. Start your New Year’s Day off right by having a brunch with bottomless mimosas! All hotel casinos have them and they are all good. Just be there by noon or sooner; they close at 2.
