Well that’s not quite true. There’s concerts, NBA basketball and the usual cool (albeit a bit funky) Portland nightlife scene. Here’s a look at what’s happening in Portland this winter.
Portland Winter Light Festival
This is not an event but a show. It’s an outdoor light show on the Willamette River which runs through downtown. It celebrates art, Portland’s artists and technology. It goes from Feb. 1-4, and is free to view.

Oregon Distiller’s Guild Toast 2017
The seventh annual toast, held on Saturday, Feb. 18, features more than 120 spirits from around the world – whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, bandy and liqueurs. Tickets are $45.
