Fun Party Events Are A Reason To Luv L.A.

It’s not New York with its tall tree and ice skating in Rockefeller Plaza, London with its Oktoberfest-style beer garden as part of Winter Wonderland, or Europe with its Christmas markets.

But the holidays in Los Angeles are a great place to be for singles because of a series of events that makes for a multitude of mingling opportunities.

There’s so many events, if you strike out at one place, you’ve got another one either that same night or the next night. And the next weekend. There’s even different crowds because the events are spread out all over the city, so if you fail to connect in say, Santa Monica, you take take your swings in the South Bay or all the way to Newport Beach.

There are holiday strolls, the Marina del Rey boat parade, the multi-day Newport Beach boat parade that attracts more than a million people, additional boat parades in Long Beach and Marina del Rey and the spectacular Manhattan Beach Holiday Fireworks.

Then of course, there’s holiday theme parties in the bars, some of which have “Sexy Santa” events in which cash and prizes are giving out for, well, the sexiest Santa costumes. And/or an Ugly Sweater contest (Sharkeez in Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and in Long Beach under the Panama Joe’s name is one of the best places to find these events.

Plus, the weather is 70 degrees and sunny. Do note, however, the temperatures drop into the upper 50s at nite so be sure and have a holiday sweater – ugly or not – with you after dark.

So yes, if you’re single for the holidays and want to unwrap a different kind of present, then head to Los Angeles. There’s certainly enough opportunities to make some holiday cheer with another single person.
