If you’re feeling adventurous – and this is something PubClub.com is considering: the Marina del Rey boat parade is the same nite. Take the Kona beer beach cruiser up to MDR – it starts at 5:55 with a brief fireworks show – then pedal back to catch the end of the King Harbor parade. It’s about an hour ride, all along the beach, of course!
Also Saturday is the 8th Annual Red and White Gala at American Junkie. This is Toy Drive for Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Bring unwrapped toys or gift cards. This will serve as your cover. Starts at 8.
SUNDAY – THE SPECTACULAR MANHATTAN BEACH FIREWORKS

All these previous events – as fun as they are, of course – provide the perfect buildup to the biggest event of this season, the Manhattan Beach Holiday Fireworks. The show, set to music, is simply spectacular.
Tens of thousands of people are sitting on beach chairs and blankets on Manhattan Beach Blvd., every house on The Strand has a house party, people are lined up on The Strand and are on the beach and you have to squeeze into the bars like Shellback Tavern at just the right time, or wait in a big line. It is THE highlight holiday event in the Beach Cities.
Joe’s Band plays at 6 with the fireworks starting at 7. Here’s the full schedule.

If you’re looking for something sort-of festive to get you in the mood earlier in the day, the Holiday Concert and Santa on the Pier is in Redondo Beach from 2-4. It must be noted this is not a wild party event, but if you want to pre-party for the fireworks with a stop in a bar or two (or take a concealed cocktail but be discreet of course) with some holiday music it can be worth your time.
LOS ANGELES EVENTS – HOLIDAY BOAT PARADES & A SANTA PUB CRAWL

The 8th Annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl in Santa Monica is Sat., Dec. 10.
