For openers, here’s a big PubClub welcome to the new subscribers of the Party Report. Glad to have you along for this great South Bay adventure! Here we are just a week away from Thanksgiving and we’re about to jump into one of the more festive times of the year starting this Wednesday.
It’s also Rivalry Week and that means it’s Party Bus time and how does sunset Happy Hour suggestions sound to you?
Excellent, so let’s get started!
WEDNESDAY: HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE
The holidays officially arrive in the South Bay on Wednesday! It’s Holiday Open House this Wednesday in downtown Manhattan Beach. It starts with the lighting of the Pier at 6 and frankly, based on past years hit the event early. That way you can take your time, scout out the most fun places (in other words the ones serving wine and other adult beverages!) and maximize this really fun singles event.
The weather is going to be clear and in the upper 50s/low 60s after dark. For more, go to this PubClub review!
SATURDAY: USC-UCLA PARTY BUS

One of the South Bay’s annual traditions continues with a party bus to the USC-UCLA game! It’s this Saturday because the Trojans host Notre Dame on Thanksgiving weekend, and the location is the historic Rose Bowl. Kickoff is 7:30, which means you don’t have to get up and start drinking at 8 a.m. Well, you can if you like of course! Just save enough energy for tailgating.
Tickets should be pretty easy to come by to get into the game, for USC fans hate going to the Rose Bowl and UCLA is just 4-6. Here’s the Party Bus schedule:
• Noon – Meet at Sharkeez Hermosa Beach for pre party!
• 2:30 p.m. – Bus arrives & boarding party
• 3 p.m. Bus departs (in front of the Comedy Club)
• Cost: $20 : Bus fee
• Optional tailgate party: $25 : tailgate (includes unlimited eat all you can eat and some drinks)

SATURDAY: WINE TASTING
There’s a new wine store and bar opening at Manhattan Village Mall, MB Wine Company, and it’s having a kickoff wine tasting with food on Saturday. It goes from 4-8, they are roasting a pig and tickets are $24 in advance, $30 at the door. Call Kat at (310) 546-9463.
SATURDAY: SAN DIEGO WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL
Feeling like a road trip? Then get a ticket (albeit a bit pricy at $165) for the San Diego Wine & Food Festival. Held outdoor on the water at Embarcadero Park it’s three hours of great food, wines, beers and especially a hot San Diego singles scene. Then you go hang out in the Gaslamp! Here’s more:

NOVEMBER IS NAVY GROG MONTH AT ROCK ‘N FISH
It’s half-priced Navy Grogs all month at Rock ‘n Fish, in a nod to the legendary Hibatchi, which was in the downtown MB location for years before Rock ‘n Fish. And here’s something else – you can get them for $6 year-round during its Happy Hour, M-F, 3-6 p.m. Here’s what’s in a Navy Grog and a bit about the drink’s history.
